Welcome to Mrs. Miller's Music page!  This is my first year at Mishawaka Catholic and my 14th year in the school setting.  I am so excited to share my love of music with your children.  In my class you can expect your child to be singing, playing instruments, listening to various pieces of music, dancing, and playing games to reinforce the many standards for music.  In addition to my musical duties I co-teach the theater enrichment class with Ms. Gallucci at St. Monica's.

This year I am also taking over the role of band director.  The schedule for 2019-2020 will be as follows:

The Beginner Band at St. Joseph Campus  will rehearse on Tuesdays and Fridays 3:00-4:00PM.  For the first several weeks, brass and percussionists will practice only on Tuesdays with the first practice being Tuesday, September 17th.  For woodwind players practices will be on Fridays, beginning on Friday, September 13th.

The Advanced Band at St. Monica Campus will rehearse on Mondays and Wednesdays 3:00-4:00PM.  (All players will attend both practices for the duration of the year unless otherwise notified.)  The first practice will be held on Monday, September 16th.

Band Members/Parents: Please join my Remind list.  If practices need to be cancelled, changed, or adjusted, I can quickly and efficiently let you know.  I may also use it to remind you of upcoming practices or pieces assigned during practice.
For St. Joe Band parents: Text "@stjoeban" to 81010.
For St. Monica Band parents: Text "@27ggf4" to 81010.

A little about me:
I grew up North of Houston, Texas and moved to Mishawaka in July 2000.  I finished high school in Indiana and went to Ball State University where I studied music education and speech-language pathology.  I graduated in 2006 and began working in special education in Mishawaka schools.  In 2008 I married Mr. Miller and in 2009 we welcomed our first child, Harrison, who is now in 5th grade at MCS.  In 2010 we introduced Lucy to the world; she is now in 3rd grade at MCS.   In November 2018 we welcomed our third child, Violet.

I love playing and listening to music.  My primary instrument is the euphonium (it looks like a baby tuba).  I have participated in community bands in past years.  Currently I enjoy performing with Ms. Gallucci and Mrs. Priemer at the Friday morning school masses at St. Monica's.
