Dear Parents,
Welcome to kindergarten!  I am very excited to have your child in my class.  If you have any questions during the year please don't hesitate to email at nohara@mcmish.org.
 
 
Meet the teacher:  I have been in catholic education for 16 years. I have a B.A. in Elementary Education and in English from the University of Notre Dame.  I have taught 3rd grade, kindergarten, and first grade. All of my children attend Mishawaka Catholic.  My family belongs to St. Bavo parish.
 

Week of January 16th-19th

*Starting this week a small book will be sent home with your child. Please read this with your child at least once during the week.

*Please look at the note about the recycled robot.  The robots are due Monday, January 22nd.

Things we are learning this week:

Religion:

-Leaders of the Church: Pope, Bishop, and the pastor are special leaders in the Church.

-The Catholic Church exists all over the world.

Reading/Writing/Phonics:

-Writing Letter Rr

-Letter /Rr /sound

- Make a list of words that start with Rr

-Review compound words

-Review syllables

Math:

-Review counting by 1, 5, 10’s

-Introduce the teen frame game

-Introduce the number line

 

Homework Notes:

Math- 3.15 Counting fingers due Friday.

 

 

Reading-You are going on  a/Rr/ hunt. Find words that start with /Rr/ sound.

**Read little book with your child. Please return Friday.
