Dear Parents,
Welcome to kindergarten!  I am very excited to have your child in my class.  If you have any questions during the year please don't hesitate to email at nohara@mcmish.org.
 
 
Meet the teacher:  I have been in catholic education for 18 years. I have a B.A. in English from the University of Notre Dame and I went through the Saint Mary's College Elementary Education program.  I have taught 3rd grade, kindergarten, and first grade. Three of my children attend Mishawaka Catholic and my oldest daughter is a freshman at Marian High School. My family belongs to the St. Bavo parish.

Phonics/Reading:

-Introducing letter/sound of /Uu/

-Review-vowels/consonants, blends, compound     words, twin consonants

-Final sounds

-Introducing middle sounds


Writing:

-Writing Uu  words in our dictionaries

-Writing uppercase and lowercase Uu



Math:

-Adding partner numbers to 5

-Using a group of 5 to add

-Adding to make 10

-Chapter assessment


Religion:

-Listening to Jesus

-Practicing mass responses


Science:

-Talking about weather & the seasons

-Martin Luther King Jr




Note From Teacher:

Report cards will come home this Friday. Please look them over and let us know if there are any questions or concerns.



Please make sure to pack your child a snack, daily. We have snack at 10:15.

  

 


Please make sure your child has cold-weather gear to go outside for recess. We go outside if it is 15° or above, with the windchill.
