Dear Parents,
Welcome to kindergarten!  I am very excited to have your child in my class.  If you have any questions during the year please don't hesitate to email at nohara@mcmish.org.
 
 
Meet the teacher:  I have been in catholic education for 16 years. I have a B.A. in English from the University of Notre Dame and I went through the Saint Mary's College Elementary Education program.  I have taught 3rd grade, kindergarten, and first grade. All of my children attend Mishawaka Catholic and my family belongs to the St. Bavo parish.

**Look for the poems coming home this Thursday that your child will be memorizing for our Oratorical Fest in May**

We are almost out of Dixie cups for snack time. If anyone would be willing to donate those we would appreciate it!

Things we are learning this week:

Religion:

-Everyone has rules we must follow.

- God gives us rules so we can be happy and safe.

Reading/Writing/Phonics:

-Letter Xx

-Sound /ks/ as in fox

- Review compound words

-Review letter sounds

-Math:

-Maps

-Money Cube game

-Class number story book

Science-We will be planting beans to watch plants grow.

Math: 7-2 Class Collection Due Friday

 

Writing Our Catholic Faith: letter X pages pgs.  66-67

 

Reading: You are going on a Xx hunt.  Look for objects that begin with the /ks/ sound as in fox.

 

Leveled book will be coming home.  Please read the book and return by Friday.
