Hello Mishawaka Catholic Families!

As your child may have mentioned, last week we began working on typing proficiency utilizing Your child will be learning to memorize key locations and build muscle memory for typing with a tool we call a ‘hideaway’. This is a simple cover that blocks them from looking at their own hands while they work through the typing lessons. While it may seem frustrating at first, learning without looking is the fastest way to improve and increase proficiency. Correct keyboarding technique is a vital tool in today’s digital world, and as I’ve assured your child, it will get easier with time. Parents, PLEASE DO NOT allow your child to work on their lessons from home. They are more than welcome to play all of the games to advance their skills, but, in order to avoid learning bad typing habits, it’s important that they practice with correct posture and with their hands covered. In class lessons are not graded on WPM or accuracy. Your child will be graded instead on attitude and effort. Please check out the homework folder for links to games and activities.

It won’t be easy, but it’s worth it! It may be hard, but WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!

GO SAINTS! Here's a look at what's going on this week!
